What made you start Krav Maga?

As a self defence system it seemed the best - the other styles I've studied seemed to lack something to me.

How long have you trained Krav Maga?

I started Krav Maga at the beginning of 2017.

How many times a week do you train?

Minimum of one but have just upgraded my membership so trying for at least 2-3.

What benefits have you seen since starting Krav Maga?

An increase in fitness, I had a heart attack in June 2016 so needed to take it slow at first but it gets easier.

If you have graded what level are you?

P2 at the moment.

Do you have any other previous martial arts experience?

I've studied a few styles over the years. I'm a black belt 1st Dan in freestyle karate, and I did three years studying jeet kun do (jkd ) under Emil martarosian.

If yes, how does Krav Maga compare to other martial arts?

Karate was great but was very regimented where as Bruce Lee's system, JKD, is very close to Krav as it's simple and direct.

What do you like about DDKM?

The fact is simple and effective and swift.

What is your favourite Krav Maga technique?

The knife defence is excellent, but at the moment for swiftness I'd say left on left straight redirection block with its returning left hammer fist and right hand strike (sounds harder than it is).

Have you had to use Krav Maga?

Not yet.

Describe a typical class?

The class consists of a warm up which is structured around the muscles that you'll use during the class, then on to the techniques.

What have you achieved since starting Krav Maga?

Less stress, better fitness, P1, P2, and made a lot of new friends.

What is your favourite thing about Krav Maga

The safe feeling whilst out knowing you and your friends and family are safe.

Would you recommend DDKM to a friend?

Definitely. It's the most effective form of self defence for the streets.

Can you say a bit more about why you like training with DDKM?

I did a lot of research before joining Direct Defence Krav Maga on other Krav clubs in the area and I'm so glad I chose DDKM. Adam is a great instructor and is obviously very passionate about his teachings, not only putting in the hours teaching but also in his learning to make sure he's the best instructor he can be, which is our gain.
