What made you start Krav Maga?
I had always wanted to find a system (Martial Art/Self Defence) that I felt comfortable with and that covered a wide range of techniques without being too structured. I also wanted to improve my fitness levels.
How long have you trained Krav Maga?
Approximately 19 months.
How many times a week do you train?
3 times a week plus additional seminars when they are available.
What benefits have you seen since starting Krav Maga?
Huge improvement in fitness level and stamina, weight loss and improved musculature.
If you have graded what level are you?
Do you have any other previous martial arts experience?
I did Thai boxing for a short while (many years ago!).
If yes, how does Krav Maga compare to other martial arts?
I much prefer the range of techniques and how Krav Maga can be used in real-life situations.
What do you like about DDKM?
I have a huge amount of respect for Adam as an instructor and the club is really friendly and cohesive.
What is your favourite Krav Maga technique?
Striking & kicking!
Have you had to use Krav Maga?
Describe a typical class?
We never know what we are doing until we start which adds to the fun and I love the variety as opposed to focussing on one or two techniques over & over (I appreciate that the repetition this helps to master the technique but I personally prefer having a bit of variety!).
What have you achieved since starting Krav Maga?
I would like to think I have improved my fighting skills and that my techniques are improving!
What is your favourite thing about Krav Maga?
Striking - and the fact there are no rules!!
Would you recommend DDKM to a friend?
Most definitely - already have!

Can you say a bit more about why you like training with DDKM?
Direct Defence Krav Maga is a great, friendly club. Adam is an excellent instructor and his own skill at performing the techniques inspires confidence and a desire to work hard to achieve the gradings. It's great to see our friends within the club progressing through the Gradings and we now have Nick working as an instructor to mix things up a bit. With sessions across Sussex, there's a DDKM class for everyone.
